Senior Project Manager -- The Knot Inc. (Austin)

We’re looking for a highly organized, self-directed team player with outstanding skills in both Agile and Traditional Project Management to drive a portfolio of projects from conception through completion. The Senior Project Manager will work as part of multiple teams to schedule project requirements, organize releases, and manage cross-project production of a multitude of projects for our Local Online, Enterprise and Infrastructure teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical partners at various levels within the organization.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading, coaching and mentoring the members of the Austin PMO office.
  • Communicating project status and management of priorities across multiple business units
  • Creating and managing task lists and project schedules using Microsoft Project and Team Foundation Server
  • Coordinating project deployments and releases across multiple environments
  • Management of multiple concurrent projects and schedules using shared internal resources
  • Working and coordinating with resources across multiple time zones and cultures
  • Managing resource allocation in conjunction with our Technology team
  • Leading and directing the project team to remain on schedule and on budget
  • Coordinating inter-project dependencies and risks
  • Management of change requests and the impact on project schedules
  • Leading project teams using both traditional and agile project management methodologies

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years project management experience, PMP certification a plus
  • Knowledge of the processes within the traditional project management lifecycle
  • Working knowledge of agile project and software methodologies, ScrumMaster experience or certification a plus
  • Ability to cope well under pressure in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Proven skill in managing projects with Microsoft Project
  • Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server a plus
  • Excellent organizational, diplomatic, and problem-solving skills within a rapidly changing environment
  • Creative and technical understanding of web projects
  • Passionate about internet technologies, social networking and lifestage media
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, CMS systems and web technologies a plus
