Assistant Managing Editor -- The Knot Inc. (New York)

The Knot Inc., Nasdaq (KNOT), a leading NYC-based premier media company, seeks an Assistant Managing Editor to work across The Knot Inc. family of brands. The Assistant Managing Editor will report to the Managing Editor and play a key role in trafficking the workflow of the print and online properties and copyediting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the editors and art team throughout the magazine production cycles
  • Trafficking manuscripts and layouts throughout the routing process
  • Creating and updating calendars and schedules
  • Copyediting and proofreading
  • Overseeing the editorial department style guide
  • Maintaining archives

Qualifications and skills include:

  • At least 3 years of editorial experience
  • Detail-oriented, organized and hard-working
  • Ability to multitask and work well under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of web publishing and social media tools
  • Strong ability to lead and motivate others
